Patient Participation Group (PPG)

Join the PPG to help us improve our services.

What is a PPG?

A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of patients, carers and GP practice staff who meet to discuss practice issues and patient experiences to help improve our services. Each of our practices have benefitted from the use of typical PPGs over recent years and as a PCN we are now looking to form a joint PPG for all of our practices. As the services within our practices start to be shared across our Primary Care Network it is important that the views from patients across all of our practices can be heard.

What are the aims of the PPG?

PPGs have proven to be very useful in our practices for a number of reasons:

  • To give patients and practice staff the opportunity to meet and discuss topics of mutual interest.
  • To provide a means for patients to become more involved and make suggestions about the healthcare services they receive.
  • To explore issues from patient complaints and patient surveys, and help monitor improvements put in place.
  • To support health awareness and patient education.
